30 days to save our seas!!!

Why this is important

   The seas around Europe used to teem with cod, herring and other fish, but because of overfishing, these and other species are now in serious trouble. Europe’s seas and the communities that rely on them are suffering from decades of gross mismanagement, but in the next 30 days, we have a chance to turn that around.

Europe’s fisheries management structure (the Common Fisheries Policy) is currently being reformed and the momentum for change is building. Now a key decision on the future of our seas rests with the 25 Members of the European Parliament's fisheries committee.
